Join us this Friday evening, July 15, 6:30-8pm at Dover Park Community Garden in Oakland, (and bring friends) for a fun and delicious info session about Phat Beets Produce Beet Box CSA program. Enjoy local tasty treats and “mocktails” made by vegan chefs. The event is free, and while we hope you will sign up for a CSA box, there is no pressure.
The Beet Box is a WIN-WIN-WIN arrangement:
- receive a box of fresh, healthy, local organic and pesticide free fruit and vegetables
- support small-scale, under-supported farmers and community/clinic-based farmers’ markets in North Oakland
- provide a “beet bucks” voucher for a teenager (and family) at risk of diet-related disease to shop at the farmers’ market
Stay After the Friend-Raiser, for outdoor movie night in the garden around 8:30pm. Bring a blanket and/or chair, a warm thermos, and someone to cuddle with.
